The Albemarle-Charlottesville Branch of the NAACP will be hosting a
“Time for Reflections and Healing”
The event will be held on Sunday, August 12 – 4PM at the
Zion Union Baptist Church – 1015 Preston Avenue.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Attending college can be quite expensive for students and their families. Luckily, there are many college scholarships and contests available to help pay for a college education. Students should seek out and apply for scholarships in which they meet the eligibility requirements.

Only brief information about each scholarship is listed. Therefore, students are encouraged to visit the scholarship websites to get further details about eligibility and requirements.

ALBEMARLE-CHARLOTTESVILLE NAACP 2018 FREEDOM FUND BANQUET IS
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 AT THE DOUBLETREE HOTEL
AT THE LOCAL BRANCH LEVEL, THE FREEDOM FUND BANQUET IS AN ANNUAL FUND RAISER HELD BY EVERY BRANCH OF THE NAACP.
THE PURPOSE IS TO RAISE MONIES TO ADVANCE CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUES AND TO ENSURE THE POLITICAL ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL WELL_ BEING OF ALL PEOPLE.

VINEGAR HILL THEATER – FRIDAY, APRIL 27 7 PM
There will be a free screening of a film made some 30 years ago about Charlottesville through the eyes, memories, and wisdom of several residents: George Ferguson, Rebecca McGinness, Sonny Sampson, and Cindy Straton.
